Tour Greenwich
Known for the Royal Observatory and the best park to visit in summer for some breath-taking views of London, there’s plenty you can get yourself caught up in within a day in Greenwich – scroll for some of our highlights!
1. Greenwich park and the Royal Observatory
Stand with a foot in each hemisphere and take a step back into scientific history with the Royal Observatory. Now a museum, home to the Prime Meridian Line and the UK’s largest refracting telescope as well as a 4.5 billion year old asteroid and London’s only planetarium. If all of that isn’t motivation enough to visit – how about taking in greenery and a cityscape view from The Point in Greenwich park? With direct views of Canary Wharf and amazing views all across the park with the pavilion café located just opposite the Royal Observatory, it’s definitely a must do for those south of the Thames.

2. Cutty Sark – Greenwich
Throw yourself back in time to discover what life was like on-board the legendary sail of the Cutty Sark – the worlds sole surviving tea clipper and the fastest ship of her time, now an open to all attraction based in Greenwich. Having visited nearly every port in the world and gaining fame for the record-breaking passages, The Cutty Sark is available to visit from 10am – 5pm daily with the last admission being at 4:15pm and tickets are available to prebook from £13.50 for adults and £7 for children.
3. Cross the Thames in a cable car
Sounds pretty cool right? Well now you can enjoy 360 degree views of London via the Emirates Air Line cable car service taking you from Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks of Canary Wharf – spotting St Pauls Cathedral, The Shard, The O2, Thames Barrier and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park all from the journey height of 90 metres. Night flight options are also available with extended journey times and tickets are available to book online now.
4. Greenwich Market
Quirky and unique gifts you say? Look no further than Greenwich market – not long refurbished with new roofing, prettier cobbles and sparkling lights. Open 7 days a week with it being a great place for browsing over 120 antiques, collectables and craft stalls, there’s also a great Pavilion food court with round the world street food to sample too!

5. The O2 Arena
Feeling a night out without having to travel too far? Head to the O2 to catch a concert with some of the biggest names in music, grab your tickets for WWE live or simply head out to one of many bars and restaurants located within the arena with bowling and a cinema on site too! 6. Do ‘The Climb’ at the O2
Amongst the hundreds of events they host from concerts to live music festivals, the national television awards and more, not that many people knew about being able to climb to the top of the o2 arena! Sounds so amazing right?! Located opposite Canary Wharf – it’s one way of being able to admire the city in its natural hustle & bustle from the peace at the top of the dome. Tickets are available from morning to evening but be sure to book in advance!
