London’s Best Summer Pop-Ups of 2018

Since we’re already in spring, I think it’s safe to say we can be on a countdown to summer now right? I mean this glorious weather is beginning to kick in as much as we’re praying it lasts another day in Britain, the grass is green and for once not seeping water every time we step onto it, and London is bringing back some of the best pop-ups to spend those late night sunsets at!

1) Pitch, Stratford – Open Now

Hours: 4-11pm - Thursday to Saturday | Bridge Road, E15 3PA – Nearest Station: Stratford High Street

80’s throwbacks with super colourful Instagram captures everywhere and street food, catch the early summer vibes in the bustle of East London’s popular terrace with Sunday brunches, DJ nights and outdoor movie screenings! Find out more info with their summer itinerary over on their website!

2) The Prince, Earl’s Court – Open Now

Hours: Open from 12pm on weekdays, 11am on weekends | 14 Lillie Road, SW6 1TT – Nearest Station: Earl’s Court

Pub gardens are great aren’t they? Well, The Prince beats all the rest we’ve seen in a long while! Transforming a Victorian pub into a fairytale themed garden, it’s also a huge street food hotspot! Foodies of London – flock, flock as fast as you can to your local, and we’ll see you there.

3) The Magic Roundabout, Old Street – Open Now

Hours: Open from 12-11pm – Tuesday to Sunday | 16 St Agnes Well, EC1Y 1BE – Nearest Station: Old Street

It’s a freaking jungle out there! With it being the last chance to eat, drink, rave and repeat in the middle of a roundabout in London this summer, the Magic Roundabout has revamped for summer and is home to street food, neon lights, paradise waterfalls and jungle scenes for the next few months!

4) Pergola Paddington – Opening April 26th

Hours: Open 12-3:30pm and 6-11pm on Wednesdays, 12-11pm – Thursday to Saturday, 12-10:30pm on Sundays and bank holidays | 5 Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, W2 6PY – Nearest Station: Royal Oak

While Pergolas have been the ‘go-to’ summer venue of pop-ups in recent years, the return of this years brings the links of Patty & Bun, DF/Mexico, Canard and MAM with sunbathing beds! With free entry and food averaging around £10, it’s a win-win of night out + food + beds!

5) Roof East, Stratford – Opening May 3rd

Hours: Open 5-11pm Tuesday to Friday, 12-11pm Saturday and Sunday| Stratford Multi-Storey Car Park, Great Eastern Way, E15 1BB – Nearest Station: Stratford

250 years of circus tradition has returned! Summer in Stratford is back with crazy golf from Birdies, rooftop films, batting practice, Beach BBQ Club food, drink with the likes of punch and cocktails – with parking taken care of downstairs!

6) Skylight, Wapping – Opening May 3rd

Hours: Open 5-11pm Thursday & Friday, 12-11pm Saturday and Sunday | Tobacco Quay, Pennington Street, St Katharine’s Way & Wapping, E1W 2SF – Nearest Station: Shadwell

The 3 storey rooftop returns once again this summer bringing back last summers’ highlights of the 3 croquet lawns, the petanque courts as well as the big screen to watch the World Cup and Wimbledon throughout June and July! With food back on offer from Yiro and other unannounced vendors and beers and bubbles on tap, Skylight is ready to help you watch the sun go down in the city!

7) Lost Vegas, Queen of Hoxton – Opening May 3rd

Hours: Open 4-10pm Monday to Friday, 12-10pm Saturday and Sunday | 1 Curtain Road, EC2A 3JX – Nearest Station: Liverpool Street

Take a step into the future with Elvis in the Chapel after you’ve loaded up on vegan hot dogs from the abandoned bus and boozed up icecream from the vending machine – Lost Vegas brings 2018 into the future with sustainable living workshops, lectures, immersive discos and theatrical experiences!

8) Rooftop Film Club, Peckham – Opening May 3rd

Hours: Dependant on screening (check out listing times here) | Bussey Building, 133 Rye Lane, SE15 4ST – Nearest Station: Peckham Rye

Across 3 venues this year including Roof East and Queen of Hoxton, the Rooftop Film Club are back with cinematic experiences of both old and new school, sink into a deck chair with the munchies at hand and catch a movie into the sunset this summer.

9) Fulham Beach Club – Opening May 3rd

Hours: 6-11pm Wednesday to Friday, 12-11pm on Saturday and 12-8pm on Sunday | Neverland, Wandsworth Bridge Road, SW6 2TY – Nearest Station: Putney Bridge & Imperial Wharf

Save the pennies in travelling to Gatwick for the cravings of a white beach, just rock up to Fulham instead as they’re bringing back the Beach Club with outdoor parties, sand sculptures and bottomless brunches! With beach ball competitions on offer as well as yoga on the beach, entry costs £5 although we advise to book in advance!

10) The BBQ Club, Southbank – Opening May 5th

Hours: Dinner sittings – Tuesday to Saturday and Lunch sittings on Saturday and Sunday, Bar open from 12-11pm daily | Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX – Nearest Station: Waterloo

Aside from already being at Roof East and Fulham Beach Club this summer, Jimmy Garcia is bringing the BBQ Club to Southbank too! With a prime rooftop spot to offer amazing views of the city skyline, take part in the 6 course tasting menu of absolutely anything and everything you can BBQ – ok within reason of course.

11) Luna Cinema – Opening May 16th

Hours: Dependant on screening & venue (check out listing times here)

Timeless classics of movies in the best locations – oh yeah. The likes of Jaws in Brockwell Lido, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with an amazing view of St Pauls – possible. Alcohol on tap whilst watch The Breakfast Club – doable. Luna Cinema keeps you covered! With venues ranging from Alexandra Palace to Ascot and Westminster Abbey, your summer selection of movies is covered.

12) The Beach Bar, Montague on the Gardens, Bloomsbury – Opening May 21st

Hours: 12-10pm Monday to Sunday | 15 Montague Street, WC1B 5BJ – Nearest Station: Russell Square

WE FEEL LIKE IT’S THE CARIBBEAN! Beach huts, palm trees, summer florals everywhere – the Montague’s beach bar is back for another year! Cocktails in coconuts and a bottomless brunch option on the beach available too, we won’t be passing this one up anytime toon.

13) Regent Street Summer Streets – Opening July 1st

Hours: During the day on Sunday’s 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd July | Regent Street, W1 – Nearest Station: Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus

With some pop-ups so amazing that the whole of Regent Street is closed down and turned into a huge picnic area, we think we’ve basically just summed up what goes down in that one line. Think games, food, drinks, busy Londoners everywhere and sunshine – well we hope anyways.

14) Film4 Summer Screen, Somerset House – Opening August 9th

Hours: Dependant on Screenings during 9th-22nd August | Somerset House, Strand, WC2R 0RN – Nearest Station: Temple

Class films in a picturesque venue – the Film4 summer screenings are back for another season! 2 weeks of summer showings with the likes of Inception, Labyrinth and Blue Velvet are all back and beaming on Somerset House!
